was on my way back to lexington, when I heard a loud pop noise followed by some grinding coming from my right front wheel, I get off the interstate at exit 99, turned onto the little road to the truck stop, and my wheel just flew off, and I seen it bouce away as my car dropped onto the roter...

was only going about 15 mph when it happened, and even then it was hard to come to a stop... just glad this did not happen on the interstate. anyone ever seen anything like this?
looks like all 5 of my lugs broke off at the spindell.

here is a small video and some pics, from my phoine so they arent the best.

Woa! You`re right, that could`ve been real bad. Any damage under the car?

Wow Surprised Looks like 1 or more of your lugnuts might have been loose letting the wheel vibrate on the studs. I'd check the rest of them to make sure they're torqued to spec.

I wondered who's car that was. I work at Greens Toyota and pull into work through Coveys lot.

Sorry to hear.

What are they doing to it for $200? Looks like it needs a rotor and 5 wheel studs/nuts. I don't see how that's $200 worth of work.

I think the roter is ok, that's not what it was draging on, its a little scuffed but ok, that's the price I got for just the rods being replaced... I know that's high, but that is me getting my car back today. hopefully... if my brother hadntjust sold his house, me and him would be doing it ourselves, but no garage till he finds a new crib in g-town...

I don't know the extent of damage underneath yet, hopefully all is ok

So they are replacing tie rods as well? That's not too bad. I always forget about labor costs since I do my own work. The guys at Coveys are good people, so I'd say you are in good hands.
